Record, the Louvre Visited by 8.8 Million People

Impian Monalisa-Louvre became the most visited museum in the world. The museum is a record 8.8 million visitors in 2011. Collection which visitors usually want to see is the smile Mona Lisa, a painting by Leonardo da Vinci. The museum says, there is an increase of five percent the number of visitors in 2011, after three consecutive years the number of visits were at 8.5 million people.

Many tourists who visit the Louvre Museum is a tourist tourists from the United States and developing countries. As many as 66 percent of Louvre visitors come from outside France. Most are the United States, followed by Brazil, Italy, Australia, and China.



Meanwhile, the number visits to French museums are expected to continue rising more than five percent over the previous year to reach 27 million visitors.

In 2010, the Louvre also become the most visited museum in the world, then the British Museum in England is visited by 5.8 million visitors. In third place is New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art in the United States visited by 5.2 million visitors
